I haven’t taken the time to check back through past strips (OK, I’m lazy), but does that “whatever” on the dresser change each time it’s shown, or is it always that funny looking head/bust?

“It” doesn’t change, cos it’s never the same one.

Agnes has had a whole menagerie of delightfully horrid creatures in her bedroom.

It’s never been clear to me whether she scrounges or salvages them from her dumpster dives, makes them herself,

or Grandma can only afford stuffed animals on clearance at the thrift store, because nobody else would take them home.

Probably all of the above…. but in any case, I want them!

Except that today’s is one of the least lovable.

Agnes is just trying to make sense of her Pathos; Trout has accepted hers!

That’s a cute (and cheery) creature on the bureau today.

That creature looks dangerous girls.

My own era is pretty beat up and well patched too, Trout!!

I’m with Trout, too. Some patches work, others don’t. Too much work to start a new era.
