Terrific idea, Nachikethass! One week of helping with the pony cleanup will certainly give new meaning to ‘having a pony’…..Besides, the ‘attitude’ being exhibited here is ‘over the top’ and doesn’t qualify for a pony under the clause ‘naughty or nice’……
Am not trying to be mean…….but…she does have to go easy on ‘the lip’…….
Our niece wanted a horse so badly for years. Whenever she came to Kalgoorlie to visit, we weren’t sure if she wanted to see us, or the horses at the stables! :) She spent a lot of time there, often helping to muck out the stables, learning how to care for horses, and of course riding :)
Anyway… she started a Hospitality Certificate at TAFE (vocational school in Australia), qualified as a cook/chef. She now has not one, but two horses, who she cares for and pays stable fees for. And she and her partner have sooo many cats and dogs :)
My teenage daughter took up horsemanship and dressage. Her lessons started with properly mucking stalls, grooming the horse including cleaning hoves, etc. She LOVED it and frequently went back between lessons just to “help out” mucking stalls. One day her instructor, a woman in her 20s, observed that if we dads think all these trips to the stables were a drag, just be glad that when our daughters get the urge to wrap their legs around a sweaty animal, but happy it is a horse.
No, just take her to a commercial stable and hire her out for a couple hours to clean stables. She wonʻt want a pony after that. Horses/Ponies are a bit territorial about their stables.

Take her to a farm, Adam. Let her care for a pony for the holidays. If she still wants one – well…

We are so very proud of her!

Santa carries around tons of toys and even cats and dogs, so one little pony isn’t going to make that much difference.

Santa should’ve left a note, telling her why she didn’t get a pony.

no amount of letters will help, waiting 60+ years for my pony.

Adam could always point out the fact that they don’t have a stable, plus any relevant laws about horse ownership.

The “pony thing” is getting really tired.
