Nay. I think Elly wil have moments of missing her kids and some guilt at leaving them at home, but overall, the vacation will be enjoyable and relaxing for both Elly and John.

I agree with Catlady. Been there, both of us felt guilty when leaving, missed them at times, but still enjoyed having time to our selves to do things we wanted.

Separation anxiety goes both ways and nothing completely ends it. I still miss my Mother (in Heaven) and that will never end until I do.

For me, I don’t feel guilty, but I do miss them a lot and enjoy sharing experiences with them. But that also doesn’t mean I talk about them all the time.

Well, Elly’s supposed to feel guilty, because that’s what good mothers do. Right?

According to Lynn’s notes, on her website, there was some guilt. However, they had so many connecting flights to get out of Canada, that she was happy to be without the kids.

The kids area at each other before mom and dad are even out of sight!

There’s nothing to really feel guilty about. Good parents need time to themselves to reconnect with each other and recharge their batteries for the kids. Besides, it’s not like they left Mike and Lizzie with Connie and Ted to take care of them!!! Those children are in very good hands with their loving grandparents.
