Looks like Chic is trying to make things known early that he is a tough guy. Too bad he has to do it. At the school where I worked there was an abused kid who didn’t know how to listen to reason, he would fight anyone, any time. It would be so much better if he decided to have him as a friend than an enemy. No way to tell that to chic and I guess he will be tested until he does lick someone.
Duffy’s still a bit obnoxious and enjoys talking tough, but he’s not cruel. If he was, he’d’ve casually backhanded Chic and walked off laughing. Instead, he’s humoring Chic’s desire for a fight. Chic will be the one who ends up in the principal’s office.
If Chic would let go of his anger, he’d see just how funny this is and start laughing. I think the two of them could become friends. Chic has shown that he’s not afraid and that counts for a lot. Duffy is a better kid than a first impression would imply. He’s ‘tough’ because he’s been hurt before, too. Like Chic. They have much in common, they just don’t know it yet.

At this point, he’s trying so hard to be nice to Chick, it’s hard not to like the guy.

A surprising turn of events; Chic has him kneeling and cursing after only belting him once!

Looks like Chic’s no hick. Not dumb as a brick, but mentally klick to find a slick schick that gives him the advantage quick.

I despise people who intimidate with their size. Had that in grade school. I feel better now that I’m taller than they are.

Smart move, Chic! Now pound some sense into the bully if that’s possible.

Interesting thought I just had….who is the bully now, the panther or Chick? :/

A battle of wits? So far Chic’s got him kneeling, and strapped down.
