I read a book by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, a Japanese television presenter who was, indeed, expelled from kindergarten/nursery school in about 1943 for “being disruptive.” Which meant in part looking out of the window during class. Her parents sent her to an alternative type facility housed in a couple of railway carriages. The book was called “Totto-chan, the Little Girl at the Window.”

Lucy getting expelled from nursery school does not, oddly enough, surprise me in the least.

Did Lucy get expelled for misbehavior? No, she got expelled for Miss (whatever the teacher’s name is).

Years before this strip, there was a Little Rascals/Our Gang film in which a fed up schoolteacher decided to expel all the kids.

My youngest son got kicked out of Kiddie Kollege. He was used to playing with his older siblings so was deemed “too rough” for the other toddlers.
