Back in the day we used our Halloween pumpkins for Thanksgiving pies by removing the burned part, peeling and cooking the pumpkin and storing it in the freezer. These days the pumpkins they sell for jack o lanterns have no flavour.

That pumpkin was probably beginning to rot anyway.

Give it to Jill in Buckles, she makes pies out of them!

And Jack still has his smile!

Today’s newspapers are quite useless too.

Newspapers are great for getting a fire going in the fireplace. That’s the only reason I buy them. I sure as heck don’t read them.

No way. Those are great. You set them up on the firing range.

After my newspaper gutted the comics and puzzles, I switched to digital. Except for Sunday. I still get it delivered.

Both are useful when composted.
