This was when Shermy was slowly being less and less seen in the strips and here he’s just mentioned.

And this is why I made my own toys and locked myself in the house until the kid’s ‘show off’ period died down.

Shermy’s folks must have money.

I think that I am detecting two different messages in that letter.

The letter was going good until the last part!

Never did get over that “How I hate him” remark in the very first strip, eh?

Shermy, a name from the dim past…

Shermy is just a wee bit spoiled.

It’s interesting to see “Charles” refer to Shermy as a “no good”as that term does indeed belong to a bygone age, as in a 1950s adult asking him “who was that no good I saw you playing with the other day?”

Is today an Opposite Day of some kind? Here CB bad-mouthes another character in a way he never really does (when someone upsets him, he might mutter critical remarks to himself, but not to someone else). And on the main Peanuts series, Schroeder proclaims his love for Lucy…
