Shotgun (if I’m not the usual driver) – yes, but you really should get your spelling straight – it’s “global warming”, not “worming”, and it’s “head shot” in Elliot’s case – I hope.
Our granddaughter, when she was in second grade, took a big pair of plastic sunglasses to school photo day. They took her picture with them on, and her parents didn’t know until she came home with the packet of photos.

My take on this is that it is school photo day….
Elliot is “too cool” to wear the dressy clothes his mother picked out….
He wants to be his own casual self…. and look smooth, like he doesn’t care.
Definitely not the dork who gets all dressed up and combs his hair flat, because his mother thinks it’ll look “nice” in his 5th grade picture.
Just like when an adult client comes to me before a photo or a job interview…. even a class reunion….
and wants a haircut that looks “good”…. but not like he or she went out and got a new haircut for the occasion.
In either case it’s “uncool” to look like you’re trying too hard.
BTW… Tigessy… “global worming” is indeed weird….
a typo, I presume…
But “headshot” can be one word or two…. especially for a promotional photo, as in a modelling portfolio.
