I knew they weren’t on the same page, because the thing Luann is so excited about will become such a drag every month. It’ll come at the worst possible time and you will hate every second of it. Am I glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore!
Oh yeah and Bernice’s excitement about a phone in her room shows how long this strip goes back, I remember my sister being excited about the same thing when she was a teenager – around 1980 or so.
The strip is really showing it’s age here. These days almost everyone is taking much more than a phone with them everywhere they go. Are we better off? Worse? Both?
There was this Judy Blume book titled “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.” She and three or four other girls were kind of making it a big deal who would be the first to get theirs and who would be next. I don’t get why it’s such a big deal. Heck, I never wanted mine to start! It sounded awful and gross and I still think it is. I hate it and I can’t wait for menopause. Hopefully that won’t be too far off. I’m almost 46 now.
