This reminds me of one time as a teenager I worked for a brick layer. One brick layer was on the roof having me to throw bricks up to him and they never made it so he kept fussing at me tellimg me to aim for his nose and one time I threw 2 bricks and hit him square on the nose and I thought I was dead but he got up laughing and just said”By golly you did that time didn’t you?”

When this comic was drawn, catchers’ masks were pretty much standard equipment. Must’ve left it in the dugout…
