Years ago I took the kids, in the dead of night, to see a meteor shower. It took awhile to find a no-lights area around a farmers field, but we settled in on a blanket to watch. Then along comes a police car with bright lights and flashlights to ask “What are you doing out here?” There went our night vision…….
