Our local mountain rescue teams regularly find hikers that are totally unprepared for the variable conditions you get in the mountains. There should be a hefty fine for idiots who risk other peoples’ lives trying to find and save their sorry asses. >:-|

And it was 20 miles to the mountain…uphill…BOTH WAYS!!!!

Sadly, these are probably true stories. Every winter there are people who go out hiking, unprepared for our local Vancouver conditions. Among the dozens who are rescued each year, there are usually one or two that are not found until the snow melts in spring (if then!).

Let’s go hang out at the hydrant and find out what’s new.

Love it! This reminds me of a Monty Python routine where 3 or 4 old codgers are sitting on the porch of the rest home, trying to “out poor” each other regarding their childhoods.
