okay there are cows and then there are cows – cows = female: bulls(usually the one with the nose ring for attaching leads to control them) = male: when/if you are distinguishing the sex in bovine species and several other species ie moose/elk etc. (now I could throw in definitions of steer, heifer, calf but confusion should not reign in explanations)And I agree with oldpine52 – just like people there are nice cows and mean cows and whatever you do don’t cross a bull unless you are an Olympic sprinter with a fence within 25 yards and the bull has to travel over 50 AND there are no ‘cow patties’ in your direct path to the fence. Ever played slip and slide – I did a few times – and let me tell you – you DO NOT want to mess with ‘cow patties’.
And yes I have personal experience, WAY TO much experience with ‘cows’
I like watching cattle play with extremely large inflatable balls. Though I saw one where a bull popped it and then brought the remains back to his owner as if to say “It broke, please fix it.”

Obviously none of them have ever spent any time around cows.
