To me, the best teachers are those who HAVE made most of the same mistakes that their students make. They then know how the student feels and what things to do to correct the mistake. Someone who has not made the same mistakes, has a hard time understanding what confused the student. That is whey I couldn’t help my daughter with math. Algebra was easy for me and it was like a foreign language to her. Trying to help her did nothing but frustrate us both. All other subjects were fine and I could explain things to her understanding.
“What a brat, correcting his mother like that! He’s always such a snot, just like his dad.”
Sorry, i was just missing the predictable comments by the usual suspects who like to say that Junior and Bub are always jerks. Where are they now, I wonder? Probably too busy trying to knock the fish off their bicycles, I imagine.
While “presser” can sound like “pressure”, the Merriam-Webster Visual Dictionary Online says it’s “presser foot”, which makes more sense anyway: you’re not pressuring the fabric, you’re pressing it down.

I like the idea of a mother learning sewing from her son.

It’s also called a presser foot. Good job, both of you—-keep it up!
