Been There. Tried to make A copy at work once and after starting the machine, I noticed the counter was bumped from ‘1’ to ‘999’. I was able to stop it after close to 2 dozen copies.
I was in charge of the copier in one of my workplaces, following my LEO retirement. The constant complaint was that it was out of toner. The very dry air and the very new carpet in this office space allowed for environmental static electricity, so every complaint of no toner was a fix of take cartridge out, shake same vigorously, replace cartridge, continue printing.
This is a true story. Happened some years ago, and it was told to me. So, you’re hearing it ‘second-hand’.Seems there was this young intern. He was given the assignment to type up a report, (on an actual typewriter). He was given some blank paper to type the report on. After a while, he ran out of paper. He asked someone in the office if there was anymore typing paper. Someone told him to go to the copier and get the paper out of it and use that paper to finish typing. He walks over to the copier and stands there for a few minutes. He then enters ‘10’ for the Quantity and then presses the ‘Copy’ button. 10 sheets of blank paper come out and he grabs those ‘blank copies’ and uses that paper to type on.True story.

Good use of the low on toner effect on the title bar and the speech bubbles.

It took 2 dozen copies before you figured out how to pull the plug from the outlet on the wall? Oh my!

Is this related to the toner out message on the printer when there is 100 more pages of toner?
