Why is Jon trying to kill Garfield by feeding him salads? That kind of diet will kill cats.

Yeah; and cats don’t think coherent thoughts in English, or stand (or walk) on their hind legs.

Good time for a public message: Keep all plants away from your cat. Poinsettia especially. Many, like those red botches, are deadly poison to your “kids.” and they will “sample.”

By the way, they can tell by smell what they are eating so fooling him this way might not work either.

Though I admit to having one crazed gray tiger who will actually chew on the plastic leaves of a phony houseplant the Cat Whisperer uses to flower out our indoor foliage. He’s yet to bite off a piece and swallow though.

Will you ever learn, Garfield?

Growing up I had a large female Siamese that would attack the pudding in the Banquet MexicanTV Dinners.My dad could barely get it eaten before she attacked. My parents currently have a gray fixed tomcat that will attack peppermint tea bags if Dad forgets to discard them when he is done with the tea. (The cat will even attack them when they are still in the package! I am told that cat will attack the peppermint as it is in the same family as catnip.)

Nice. Love it when Jon actually uses his brain. But then again, we don’t know where the idea came from do we - possibly his girlfriend?

It’s fun to fool cats. Most have a good sense of humor and take it in stride (as long as they get petted). Then they get you back. They’re just normally playful.

But I’ve just resigned myself to my cat chewing on my spider plants (non-toxic). Kind of makes up for the fact that I don’t let her outside much - and it’s fun to watch.

Garfield might not be so forgiving though. We shall see.

magnamax, I was thinking the exact same thing. dataweaver (IMO) was just using some sarcasm about what miles51 had said just before him.

A lot of animals like corn-birds, squirrels, raccoons…

I tried to grow catnip for our cats. I made the mistake of putting said plant on the floor thinking that, now after it had grown into a large plant, it will serve the four cats we had at the time. The result was one empty pot with a tiny stub where the catnip plant was and four bombed out of their furry little minds cats.

I heard having a squirtgun with water is a good way to discipline a cat.
