I have two buttons on my remote that get used most often.
The first is the Billy Mayes Memorial Mute Button for annoying commercials. Try muting the commercials sometime: the silence will call attention to how long they run. The evening news is the worst. They will run three minutes of commercial, come back for 15 seconds and go into another three minutes of commercial.
The second button is the on that tunes in my favorite network: OFF.
I have Prime and Netflix and am hooked on Bristish Mystery TV series. The difference to American dreck is amazing. The only similarity is they are formulaic too. I think it is unavoidable as in reality the characters would do the same thing each time to solve a crime. People tend to do things the same way in general.
I can usually recognize a rerun from only a few moments of footage, but given how fast he’s changing the channels it’s not likely he’s even registering an image, not to mention there are probably a few channels giving commercials. Of course it is no longer possible to flip to channels that fast, back in the analogue days you could but now that everything is digital it takes a moment for a channel to load, so flipping that fast will only show you a black screen.

“John and Yanni: The Concert at Stonehenge” sounds like Snoresville for these two teenagers.

My PBS channel recently nicked me good for a DVD and CD of “The Best of Nat King Cole.” And it’s worth it!

If it was live you could always hold out hope that those massive stones would collapse.
