A young man gets hit by a bus and dies

His distraught mother calls a mystic and they hold a seance.

The mystic tells the mother that it’s very good she called so soon, because the spirits of the deceased only have a short time while they are awaiting their eternal destination to commune with the living.

The seance begins and the voice of the young man fills the room, “Mother! Is that you?!”

“Baby,” cries the mother, “How are you doing? Where are you? Are you in Heaven?”

“I’m not sure, mother! I’m in a waiting room with three other people, though. There’s a British man, a French man and a German man here waiting with me.”

The mother cries out in joy and says, “You are in Heaven! Oh I’m so glad! All British police go to heaven! French cooks all go to heaven! German engineers, they all go to heaven!!”

The young man starts to wail and cry and scream and he says, “Oh mother! I must be in hell! The German is a police officer! The French man is an engineer! And the British man claims he was a cook!”

On her deathbed, Morton’s wife had one last wish.

“Dearest Morton, when I’m gone I want you to go on and live your life to the fullest and meet someone new. I want you to give her my jewellry, my wedding ring, and my Parisian dresses.”

“I can’t do that..” says Morton. His wife insists, “Oh, but you must! You must!”

He replies, “No, I really can’t – You’re a size 17 and she wears a size 10.”
