It is the opposite. He needed to go on vacation because nobody else had ever operated the Slurpee machine. Somebody is going to be pulled in off of night shift to show everybody how to set up, operate, and clean it. They will probably get the hoses to the pop machine straightened out, too.

It’s funny, but almost every time anybody wants to show vacation time, it’s at the beach. That is the last place I would go. I hate heat, burn easily, and don’t like the sand in my bathing suit. I MUCH prefer the cool mountains, trees and streams (along with plenty of tick repellent). Although…walking along the Virginia beaches in December does have a certain charm.

Probably worried that the Slurpee machine is the only reason he has (had?) a job.

Let’s lay it out here. Situation: he’s probably the manager, and he’s worried he’s associates are going to destroy the place while he’s gone. Although, I would love to see the Stooge antics with the Slurpee machine; be great for any teen sitcom.

Yeah, vacations are just reasons to worry about something for a longer period of time somewhere else.

He’s not worried about the slurpee machine or anything else at the office; he’s trying to avoid letting his wife see him starring at the young bikini clad girl lying on the towel next to them!
