Red and Rover by Brian Basset for January 10, 2011
Transcript:
Rover: Am I ever glad you're back from school! Red: You're glad?! I'm ecstatic!! While I'm stuck behind a desk for six hours, you're free to do cool dog stuff! (Sigh) even though you can't have chocolate and often eat meals with liver in it, I'm starting to think you got the better end of the deal.

Liver just needs to be drowned, period!

But dogs LOVE liver. Less liver for Red means more liver for Rover.

I might tolerate liver if I got extra chocolate.

I used to envy my Lab. The day was hers to spend exactly as she chose. We live in the country on the lake and she could come and go as she desired and would swim and visit her neighborhood friends then come home and curl up in a patch of sun on the lawn. Meanwhile I would be doing chores and looking longingly at her freedom. LOL
I used to like liver and onions until a girlfriend served it to me. Instead of frying it she boiled it. One bite and I was through with it forever.

Liver smothered in onions and A-1 sauce. Now that’s the ticket. It’s even better if you subtract the liver!

I don’t even want to type the “L” word! In the end you’ll have the better part of the “deal”, Red.

evanescent, we all have the same deal – one life per customer. The years don’t matter; time only exists to keep everything from happening at once.

Done right, tounge is good. But liver? Only chopped with plenty of brandy in the mix, the way my grandmother used to.

My Siberian, Apache, and I share our liver. He cannot have the onions, but he seems not disappointed at all.
