The first step to solving racism is to admit that everyone else is the problem. And, a problem is like Jamal. So, if everyone else is like Jamal, there’s no problem. See? Racism solved.

You need multiple college degrees to maintain a dialog to validate “the process”, though.

OMG! I’m lovin’ the bubble pipe. And the smoking jacket over his t-shirt. I’m in, Jamal!

Solve problems like racism and social injustice, etc.? Easy. You just need to take EVERY child in the world away from its parents and their preconceived ideas of race, etc. and teach them that all people are good and religion is bad.

…I hope we can address the problem of people saying “you called me a ‘racist name’ fifty years ago! You are a racist!” when they are not taking into consideration whether the person accused has grown and changed in fifty years…is there any hope or forgiveness for them?(either the accused OR the accuser?)…

Wait a sec! Jamal says to Tauhid “…you stared this comic strip?” Methinks that was supposed to be “started” instead of “stared”.

Ohdeergawd, please tell me we’re not going to start calling out Tauhid for a bloody typo. I read it as “started” and didn’t notice. As long as you can tell what’s being communicated, you can enjoy the strip.

The classic bubble pipe. It’s just the right level of distinguished.

I am torn between “Dang, your characters do that to you too, Mr. Bondia?” and “how would you end racism, Jamal?”

…kids are often the best people to ask for answers to these burning issues; most of them have an innate sense of justice, and aren’t yet contaminated by knowledge of years, decades and even centuries of historical injustice. If you ask them simple questions, there is a very good chance you will get beautifully simple answers. The answers may not solve everything, but they can bring a different perspective, one that we adults have not seen in years…
