Adding insult to injury, the race’s organizers subtracted motivation with the math test and multiplied the social division among the runners. This was an integral part of why the race’s outcome was a derivative of the extended time. Bob squared his circle of friends and sprained his radius. Jim gave early sines of victory but faded when he neared the track’s median. George was just an average runner that pursued racing in a tangential way. Mary, an i-conic runner, got distracted when she smelled the fresh Pi at the finish line and her legs went hyperbolic.

I love this! I’ve been at the 20-mile mark. Could I have done even simple math at that point? Maybe that is part of the tortoise vs. hare genre.
