People don’t need to have everything they own ‘spark joy’. Most of the time, they need to have things that do the job within budget without making them miserable.
The tshirt I’m wearing doesn’t spark any joy, but it fits, it’s fairly comfortable, and it was FREE.
The shorts I’m wearing? The same, except that they cost a dollar at the thrift store.
My books? They number in the thousands. Some spark joy, some educate, some invite thought, some remind me that life is what it is. No, I wouldn’t be more ‘joyful’ if I got rid of all but 30 or less.
Marie Kondo may be happy with her lifestyle, but it seems to me that she’s just trying to get people to throw out things that are doing fine, in order to spend money to replace them with things people need that will ‘spark joy’. Not being wealthy, I’ll pass.

OK, what’s going on? Kevin and Kell are also having a ‘Marie Kondo’ week.

I’m easy to please – other than some pots and pans and the cleaning products, everything in my house sparks joy.

Listen well kiddo, I’m going in there and anything that doesn’t spark my interest is going to Good Will.
