Soon he’ll be an “I worry” poacher, because Tarzan’s gonna get him!

This is one I hope Tarzan leaves trussed up in the path of an angry Tantor. Poachers rank somewhat less than elephant droppings in general, and I place Ivory poachers near the very bottom of that heap.

Yeah, remember when playing the piano was called “tickling the ivories”? It’s even worse (though not as prevalent) to kill elephants for sport (e.g. Osa and Martin Johnson). Killing for food, I can understand. Killing to eliminate an invasive species, OK, has to be done sometimes, like pythons in the Everglades. But for something as useless as ivory…makes my blood boil. Useless in the sense that their are other materials that are as good as or better than ivory for whatever use. Killing lions and tigers…unless they’ve become man-eaters…can’t imagine how that gives someone a thrill.

Ivory poacher, the quintessential jungle adventure trope.

“Jack West was an ivory poacher.” I almost expected to hear a musical walk down from the bass instrument section, BUMMM, BUMMM, BUUUMMMM!
