Premise … this world is a natural habitat zoo for Aliens to study the different levels of the animal food chain. By watching the Apex destroy itself perhaps the aliens learn how to preserve their own alien planet.. because they’re not doing anything to stop this one from extinguishing a great many life forms as did that meteor… thousands… tens of thousands of years ago.
