Carmen, you’re the kids’ grandaunt (“tía abuela”, non-speakers of Spanish).

I’m still sad about it being cancelled. It was a very good reboot. I need to know why Abuelita and Leslie went to Cuba instead of FLA.

My wife and I have been watching it on Netflix. It’s annoying how political its been.

Wait, that show was revamped? The only one I know is the one that ended in 1984

No, it’s a recently divorced mother raising two teenage daughters. There’s no “Abuelita” in it at all.

I’m starting to think we need some new vocabulary words to discuss a show like the new “One Day at a Time.” Is it a reboot? I think of that term as being more applicable to the most recent Star Trek movies, which featured new actors playing the characters from the original series. Is “Will & Grace” or “Roseanne” a reboot, since both shows got the original actors to reprise their roles? I would call “One Day at a Time” a remake, or perhaps an homage, to the original series, as there is a very basic similarity to the original show but the characters and their situations are completely different.

The Ann in the original worked for an advertising agency. I had a dream once where she was in competition for a client with McMann & Tate. I think Serena turned her into a baby.
