A parent has to teach portion control by saying, “Here you are. This is how much cereal you’re going to eat in the mornings.” Repeat for all of the other meals.
Most bars will refuse to sell you any more when it’s obvious you’ve had too much to drink. I often wonder why grocery stores don’t adopt a similar policy. (Never mind – I know the answer.)
