I have too many clothes, but can’t resist when I find something in my size at my local thrift shop for cheap. It has to be in excellent repair too, or I won’t even try it on. $8 for brand-named jeans in like-new condition, is WAY better than $25 for off-brand jeans at Walmart or similar. It also helps me not feel too bad if they get damaged during one of my many gardening chores. I have lots more in the closet. :P
When I was in college, a roommate would trade new overalls for old ones back in “farm country”. Then sell the old ones to city kids for 4-5 times the cost of new. That was the early ’70s.

My clothes stay in pretty good shape but tends to get stained. I guess I’m a sloppy eater.
