Apparently that memo never reached the White House! (OK sorry, someone had to say it!)

Back in 2013, based on an accusation of insider trading it was decided that Twitter is a news source. The information was put out on twitter before the trade. Sounds a bit hinkey.

Twitter and Facebook are both good sources of fake news.

I was telling a coworker about an article I read in the Washington Post and she said she hadn’t seen it. I told her I didn’t know she subscribed to the Post and she said “I don’t, but I have twitter.” I had no idea how to respond to that.

Why isn’t twitter a news source? I follow ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, AP, and the Weather Channel. Do you think that the information they post on twitter is different than what is reported elsewhere? Are the links that these organizations provide phony in some way?

Granted, I also follow GoComics, a couple actors, a few artists, and some scientists, but I don’t mistake any of them for actual news (some point me in the right direction, though).

Really, twitter isn’t the problem, lack of common sense is.
