Yo-yos. I do believe that possibly a version of them were used as offensive/defensive weapons. Horace would do much better if he would metamorphose his front hooves into hands. Houyhnhnms can do that. He must have been orphaned from them too soon. Pull out those horse shoes so he can. The wounds will heal quickly. Beings like him can do that. Why they can pass themselves off as horses, their lesser cousins. Gulliver found them to be superior beings of the type he identified with over the Yahoos who the Houyhnhnms used as draft animals. And who looked human.
