I’ve had a conversation almost like this with more than one spider. It’s hard to put across to them that when I scoop them up off the floor of the shower (to relocate them under the sink where they can eat all the bugs they want with my blessing) that I’m actually saving them from drowning.
I don’t converse with them, I just wait until they land and then spray them with enough spray to make sure that there is NO chance for them to get up again!

I can’t remember the last time I saw a house fly. there were plenty of them in Albuquerque 60 years ago when I was a kid. Now, I live in FL, the buggiest state in the union, and nary a one. . .
