By the way, one of the funniest things concerning these special cartoon shorthands I ever saw was on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. A young lady was reading a Spider-Man comic aloud to another character, and she was puzzled by the squiggly lines around Spideyās head. The cognescenti know they signify a tingling in his āspider-senseāā an early warning of danger. But she wondered, āSo, what, does his head stink?ā
