    It’s hard to be “very very rich” if you’re dead. … ChukLitl, I wonder if that’s a common curse in law school: “Oh, go sue yourself!”

    If your insurance company doesn’t want to pay up, then you do sue yourself to force the insurance company to pay.

    And realistically, if the guy was hurt by the sign and has to sue, he’s going to name the sign installer as a party. You only get one chance to sue and if you only sue the owner of the sign and he can prove it’s not his fault, you’re screwed. You name everyone who might possibly have a connection to the sign, including the architect and builder of the building (sign company might have detrimentally relied on the building’s design or construction as being sound and proper)…
