If Ben can handle lightning you can handle month old sauerkraut.

Swami Vivekananda said something similar, but it’s not known if he ever encountered month-old sauerkraut.

if the fridge is open, why is there a calendar on the door? Isn’t that the inside of the door?

Homemade Saurkraut , slice cabbage thinly into quart jar , pack closely , add boiling water , tablespoon of kosher salt , leave in dark cool place with loose lid for 3months. Then eat it if you’re really brave.

I’ve actually found that the smell of sauerkraut gets milder as it sits around. When I was cleaning out my fridge before moving once, I was tossing out some old pasta which was downright nasty and thought the kraut would be even worse but it wasn’t. Hardly smelled it at all, really.

No, but Franklin DID have to stare down polio, World War 2, Nazi powers of Germany and Japan, nationwide food shortages, child labor, and incestuous marriage to his own cousin.

No. But he did have to stare down the Nazis and the Japanese threat, Pearl Harbor and The Great Depression. which is far scarier stare that whatever the heck “sauerkraut” is. Sounds pretty German, so it’s suspicious nevertheless.
