Yesterday, some of you very kindly welcomed me back…..

I posted my thanks, and some sad news,

for me and for our GoComics community,

It was late, and I don’t think many saw it.

With apologies to those who did….

I’d like to re-post it now, so more people know:

This is still very hard for me to talk about….

I guess I thought it would spread by osmosis, but it hasn’t.

X_Tech, my dearest friend, and my heart’s companion,

Passed away last Monday, June 24th, after a difficult week in ICU with severe pneumonia.

He was extremely funny, kind, and courageous, in the face of many medical battles…

His loss is a blow to this site, and to all the people he guided with his patient technical advice.

I was devoting my time to him during his last week, though he wasn’t conscious…

and haven’t been on the comics much since.

Because we were both very private, we didn’t talk online about our closeness…

But I’ll tell you, now, that I’ve had trouble finding my funny bone, or even spreading the news.

I’m slowly trying to work my way back… though it’s difficult, and will probably be intermittent for a while yet.

Thank you all for your kind and welcoming words.

Grieving is different for everyone. Do what you have to do and what makes you comfortable. Take all the time necessary. My most sincere condolences.
