Please get the car off those cinder blocks. They should never be used for holding up a vehicle. They practically explode when they fail, giving no warning to whomever might be under the car at the time.
Panic kills. I am listening how people are dying in riptides. I got caught in one. I was about 200 yards out and then it stopped. It was a nice day early so I floated for 30 minutes or so and just waited. A friend saw me and came out and panicked, big time, tried to use me as a flotation device grabbing me around the neck. I had no choice but to push him off. Two others saw the disturbance and came and took him in, I swam in in their wake. The words of the HitchHikers’ Guide to the Galaxy are true- DON’T PANIC!
He should be panicky – if he doesn’t know HOW to do the work, he’s going to have one really bad time putting the entire front suspension in that car, as I don’t see: lower control arms, upper control arms, shocks, springs, tie rods, steering box… nothing at all. :-|
Start by listing the tools he needs: Big hammers, Screwdriver set, Standard and deep socket set, angle grinder, Oxy/acetylene torch, mig/tig welder, Hydraulic port-a-power, bodywork hammers and dolly set, air compressor, voltmeter, 2 years of trade school. I don’t think dad has any of that stuff because he has a clean and empty garage. He needs a garage because city zoning is going to give him a week to get it away from the front of the house or tow it off.

Is Baldo afraid he cannot afford to restore that car?

Don’t worry, Dad, he’ll get the other “talk” from the internet or in the locker room at school. :-I

If Jeremy in the Zits comic can rebuild an old VW Minibus, Baldo can get this classic going. ¡Corage y ánimo!
