We went camping this week with friends and between us we had 3 dogs

Every time one of the other 2 dogs went pee, Tillie had to go pee on the same spot

I wonder what message she was sending

My male dog always pees over my female’s pee. I think it might be a protection thing, disguising her scent with his own.

Dogs, and wolves, have a need to let others know what they claim. Whether they own it or not. People do the same, though it is often with flags and other people(Chris Columbus and Vasco da Gama come to mind)

They gotta check their Pee-mail. We have a female that will leave a message, then she has to smell-check it to make sure.

Leaving a message on Pitter(no, I won’t use "s"s ☺)…

When the mail lady comes to my house I open the door (on the side of the house and blocked by a fence) give him the command “Kill”. Boy howdy, I aint never see him run so fast!

Yes it is called “marking territory”.

Dogs can’t read. So ours tries to use common scents to educate others as to his territory.
