A fine fifty years it has been since then. (Is Aldrin the last of the people from the landing?)

What an achieve the that was. Saw the launch on the BBC and followed it until they landed safely. No-one knew if they’d make it to the moon and back and survive. I wax 14 at the time and like many others it really caught my imagination.

I’m having my morning coffee in my NASA mug. It was great to be alive and old enough to understand it all and see it on TV. Of course, my neighbor thinks it was staged on a Hollywood backlot.

When in DC go to the lander exhibit at the Smithsonian and see what they did. Standing up and looking through a tiny window.

Hard to believe we accomplished that with 60’s technology…

I spent most of the day drawing the landing just in time for it to be on tv when I was about 12. And it was well drawn, but I lost it over time.
