coached 5th to 8th grade football for many years. one year I had a young man who was barely 4 ft and maybe 50 lbs. I also had a line that were all over 5ft and 130 lbs. the little guy played safety on defense and in a practice session he was to come up and support the linebacker if the offense ran an end around play. the offense ran an end around play. the little guy rushed toward the two lineman fullback and ball carrier coming around the end of the offensive line. as he got within 5 yards and realized how big they were he did one of the fasted pivots I have seen in football ever and begin leading the end around as a blocker for the running back. he stayed just ahead of the pack all the way to the end zone. I never laughed so hard in all my years of coaching. just told him “wise decision son”
