He should run again. Given the thrice married, credibly accused rapist and self admitted sexual predator, lying, fatuous, racist, dictator loving, dementia sufferer in the WH, surrounded by criminal cabinet appointees, why would anyone have an issue with Mr Franken running again? If I lived in Minnesota I’d vote for him.

Sexual harassment and assault are not matters to dismiss or laugh about. But anyone who still believes women would not lie about these things to further their own ends, is incredibly naive.

Having been falsely accused of domestic violence myself, by a woman whom I divorced for that very reason, I have sympathy for Al Franken. His behavior, however juvenile, does not rise to the level of, say, Jeffrey Epstein (or Donald Trump, for that matter). Just know that there are women out there who are ever bit as evil and manipulative as some of these men.

Talk about witch hunts and this was a perfect example. There’s a big difference between being a bit of a jerk and committing a crime. And has anyone considered the problem about “always” believing the woman. Now a man’s livelihood and reputation are all subject to the “claims” of misbehavior whether they can be substantiated or not.

I don’t pretend to know all of the details, and I don’t know Mr. Franken beyond his public persona. What i see is his doing the honorable thing and resigning without dragging himself and others through the mud. My take is, “I don’t believe i did anything hurtful, but rather than waste time and money fighting this, I will resign and spare the nation any further turmoil”. Of course, Trump could do that, also…

This fiasco is a big reason why Gillibrand will be off the stage by mid-August.
