I have a 18 month old dog, that, like Fred, considers it his job to clear the back yard of any intruders, real or imaginary. So nearly every time I let him out, he charges out to the corners of the yard snarling and barking, and then runs at full speed to the other corners, again sounding off, until he’s satisfied the property is safe for me. It’s kind of funny during the day, but I don’t think the neighbors feel the same way about the 3 a.m. run.
