The same with couches and beds, wherever I sit, my dog (who is chihuahua sized) and my two cats must sit, on my chair, on my couch, on my bed, on me. I guess it is their payback for us humans to be “pet sitting” all the time. I am entirely fine with it though, they enjoy my company, I enjoy theirs. People say dogs have masters and cats have staff, but cats can love you too and also share a great bond with you.
I had a 25 pound cat. it understood that my wife and I would get up early 5 days a week and later on 2 days so it would wait to use its bed. But it never understood holidays. So, one holiday, he jumped from the headboard onto my stomach. After that, I made sure to close the bedroom door with the cat outside if the next day was a holiday!

You don’t sit in a cat’s chair, you are a cat’s chair.

If I sit down anywhere one of the cats has to sit on me. If I sit in my recliner I become a cat bed.

As I am reading comics (and typing) my Cyrena is sitting on the desk purring – when she is not walking back and forth in front of the screen.
