National Lemon Meringue Pie Day. And I just made an angel food cake. I can’t handle the pie and the cake all by myself.
National Relaxation Day. I was going to mow my yard today, but that’s not relaxing. Maybe I need to put that off for one more day.
National Leathercraft Day. I made one leathercraft wallet type thing back in junior high and that was the first and the last time I ever did leathercraft.
I’ve been getting a strange new visitor to my back yard these past couple days. I first saw it on Tuesday. I heard something over by my back gate (the gate is chain link) and I went to see if a cat was going over the fence and that was when I saw this dark colored furry critter with a short tail. It waddled sort of the way a raccoon or possum does, but I knew it wasn’t a coon or possum. It looked like a groundhog, but I wasn’t able to get a good look before it ran off into some tall weeds (I really have to mow my yard!). I heard the noise by the gate again on Wednesday and when I went to check in out, there was that little critter again. This time, it went under my car and I was able to positively identify it as a groundhog. First time I’ve ever seen one of them in my yard. There’s a whole colony (is that what they call a group of groundhogs?) living behind the Walmart where I work. We like having them out there, but the people from our lawn care company aren’t so crazy about them.
I just found out that my daily walks to help lose weight caused a blister on one toe. It got infected with MRSA (not the terminal kind found in hospitals, but the less dangerous kind everybody has on their skins outside their bodies). The fix is eight pills of a medicine that is so new on the market that it costs $1,500. Fortunately medicare came through for me and my copay is only (only!) $100 for 8 pills.
Calling a sweet kitty like Oliver a stoolie is just plain mean! (I bet Chesney wrote that.) On another note, saw three rabbits while out walking today. There used to be grouses where I live, but sadly, I don’t see or hear them anymore.

At least they’ve got a yard! And I don’t see any guard towers!

Got my hearing tested at Costco today. No wonder I have to turn up the tv to the max. Sigh

Pot luck means everyone should bring something, so what are you bringing, Chesney?

Careful, Chesney, your attitude may get you tossed onto the loading dock before you can do your “Jailhouse Rock” routine.
