Petey: It's not good! I can't do a project on Rutherford B. Hayes! I'm not inspired! It's ridiculous! Alice: Is this a picture of him? Yikes! You should do your project about his beard! Petey: Alice! You're a genius! I could kiss you! Except you're all sticky and germy, so forget it. Alice: EW. Get away!

A shoebox diorama of Rutherford B. Hayes’ beard, which he hid behind while working on civil service reform! A guaranteed A+!

Love P2, with the beautiful static emanating out of Petey’s head. This is like how cartoons used to react in the 1920s.

I told you Hayes had a beard. Every President from Lincoln to Taft had either a beard or a mustache (or both) with one exception (William McKinley). No President before that and no President since then has had either. Only one Republican or Democrat Presidential candidate since Taft even had a mustache (Thomas Dewey) and he lost both times he ran.

Who was the last president to have facial hair?
margueritem almost 14 years ago
Hayes’ wife was refered to as ‘Lemonade Lucy’.

You already share her germs, Petey. But at least that means you should be immune!

Also the reason why “the horseless carriage” (aka the automobile) wasn’t invented until he left office! LOL

Now you know what will keep Alice away, Petey. Threaten to kiss her every time she comes in your room.

This should be good. What an idea, Alice!

Ooh, I hope we get to see Petey’s Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Beard Diorama! (I personally am still a little bummed that we only got to hear secondhand about Petey and Andre’s triumphant Soil Erosion Skit.)
