That pink/green thing is totally uncanny. It made me realize that I’m really sitting in a padded cell somewhere in Vladivostok, and that I have one hell of an imagination.
I’m always amazed at how much Elizabeth Montgomery resembles her father in some photos.
And I didn’t know that she was in “The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell”. I see that my library has a few copies of it on DVD, so I guess I’ll be watching it again soon.
“Helmets”- The shown helmets are known as “short timer’s helmets,” and were typically worn by Viet Nam draftees who had completed the bulk of their required one year of service. By displaying their status, in terms of their time “in country,” they hoped that their superiors and their subordinates would recognize their length of service and understand that their attitude regarding further action might be affected by their upcoming transfer home. It was a form of defiance, inasmuch as the decoration of uniforms was technically prohibited, but seldom successful.

Great blog so far today, Mz T!
Wonder if regular cartooning in Austria is as open to women as the political cartooning seems to be? I thought that story was amusing.
Bet the original editor feels a bit silly, but then again, maybe not!
