Calvin and his family sure had loads of run on their week-long, rainy camping trip. Specially when Calvin tried to swim in the lake during such weather.

I guess the sun will come out the day they pack the car to go back home.

Well, you heard the theory while I actually experienced it.

By the way, why carry an umbrella when you’re already in bathing suits?

Is the hydrologic cycle the same as the otter loop?

I don’t know who is more excited.

Where is this place? I want to visit, we haven´t had any real rain since April 22nd!!

This story arc saddens me. They all (especially Mom) deserve a nice vacation.

Reminds me of a story by Jean Shepard years ago. He was the author of the story’s that comprised “A Christmas Story”. I believe it was called “Harry Gertz and the 47 Crappie’s”.

Obviously Dad didn’t describe the full hydrologic cycle to Petey… I can imagine how he’d freak when he learned every drop of water he’s ever imbibed had gone through something’s kidneys…

Why room 213? Is this number called out or referenced on a previous strip?

Rain doesn’t ruin every vacation.

When I was a kid, we used to go to the Great South Bay on the Atlantic. One day there was a terrific thunderstorm. We headed to the beach as soon as we could. The storm somewhere out over the ocean at that point, kicking up quite a ruckus. I will never forget our friendly bay, now iron-gray, looking ferocious with whitecaps everywhere, like it was looking for a way to storm the shore and eat everything in its path. I couldn’t take my eyes away. More than 60 years later that picture is fresh.

With the increased heating the water cycle is moving faster.

Looks like just another day in London Town…

First-hand experience (Alice and Madeline) vs. book-learning (Petey and Peter). On the whole, I’d rather be in a sunny place….

If you are going to wear bathing suits and go into the water, why bring an umbrella?
