I think my reaction would have been the same as Sally’s here. What on earth would possibly prompt that secretary to ask, if the school-age children who just came into her office, during school hours, are indeed students at this school?!
Do students from other elementary schools routinely wander into this school enough that they have to actually ask this question?!
I wonder about conditions of the Encyclopeadia salesmen having hard time selling the books in this information technology age. Sally’s comparison is priceless!
