But Alice is still confused, Petey and Dill, of what “you can’t tie down a banjo man” means.

It’s true. You can’t tie one down. But you CAN tie one up.

Thank you, Dill, for clearing that up.

Once again, a little over 10 years ago, a blog entry preceded this strip:

    http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2009/09/timmy-fretwork.html

Actually for the 9/11 strip, that already had a blog entry and it works (I think) for this strip as well.

You could tie him down with a couple of strategically placed banjo strings.

Mainly because he has the banjo surgically grafted to his knee…

One of the best quotes of the entire series.

The Boys’ responses are absolutely making my day! Especially Dill’s!

It may not be melodious but you can’t play a sad song with a banjo.

My dad played the banjo. He used to go into the bedroom and close the door when he practiced so he wouldn’t disturb anyone. We could still hear the banjo all over the house and out into the yard.

In our neighborhood, the Banjo Man has been linked to a series of gruesome murders.

I use “You can’t tie down a banjo man” whenever someone says that I need to slow down in life. They don’t get it, but I do. I laugh on the inside (although, sometimes, that may just be gas).

Banjo Man Rob McLaren wrote a song inspired by this line:

My Hero speaks the truth of the ages! Look upon panel 3, ye unbelievers, and believe. For the disciple Dill has spread the words unto you!

You can’t tie down a Banjo Man!
