In fantasies you can afford a lot more altruism than in real life. Actually, in my fantasies there would be no need for it, everyone would have what they need to become everything that they are capable of becoming. But, you don’t need to live in a fantasy to help a few kids do just exactly that. Children Incorporated is one charity- there are others, and it’s only about $40 a month to keep a kid in school. Very few of us are rich enough to make a lot of difference in the world, but there are a whole lot of us who can afford $40 a month to make a big difference for one kid. And, who knows what that one kid will be able to do?
Evidently, one of those “inner city kids” he put through med school became the brilliant young black surgeon that saved Contessa’s life. What goes around comes around. Mike has got some great fantasies!

Ok, now we’re really into the realm of fantasy.

Would that surgeon be the current Secretary of H.U.D ? If so, he seems to have been elevated above his level of competence.

Is that Rudy aka Thor (the kid Doonesbury Big Brothered) in the second panel? It’s nice to see him again, even in a fantasy sequence.
