I donât need a fancy-lilâ-windmill, clownsâ nose, anâ such: I just use the walnuts droppinâ off right now, a good-sturdy walkinâ stick(an old beat-up baseball bat works for the âtee-offâ!), anâ my own-private assortment of mole-hills, holes, and tunnels! (The ideal-hazard is the septic-laterals.) âș
I once stalled the windmill when one of its sails trapped my perfectly-timed (but poorly aimed) ball against the ground. Wasnât sure how to score that oneâŠ
Last March, my almost 70 husband decided he wanted to play mini golf on his birthday. We ended up at the Rio Resort (in Las Vegas) at an indoor course that was âTwilight Zoneâ themed. We had a blast.
Wee St. Andrews in Dallas was the best course. No animated gimmicks, just natural obstacles like a trees in the middle, or teeing off a real 18â Austin chalk cliff. I made a micro-golf course (nine holes in 18Ă48 inches) copying real miniature courses. Two thirds came from WSA, another couple from one in front of the music hall in Fair Park. Only antiques remember these great courses.

A golf enthusiast asked my brother if he played golf. He said yes! Just last night I got the ball in the clownâs nose and got a free game.
